Everything You Need To Know About Rice Lucido’s EP (And Love Letter), Pahina Uno
If you’re familiar with Rice Lucido, you will know that every single part of who she is is an artist and one of the things she does really well is sing. After so many gigs, covers and original songs, she is finally launching her first EP, Pahina Uno, through a tour throughout the different parts of the metro.

Rice’s art is her journal. It is through art that she is able to say what she wants to say, translating feelings, life lessons and her soul creatively and genuinely. Aptly named, Pahina Uno is the first page of her music and in this page, she talks about all kinds of love in different ways, in different emotions, in different places.
But Pahina Uno is not just a page from Rice’s journal, written just for herself, but a love letter for anyone who loves. The EP’s album art signifies this, mirroring the format of a letter, with Rice’s name signed at the bottom right, while the four songs that talk about the love in relationships, friendships, self-love and the world is the letter itself, under a loop of the 4 songs in the rain.
Pahina Uno is the first page – the first of many letters to come from Rice’s journal. It is through Pahina Uno that people, after so many sneak peeks of who Rice Lucido is as an artist, both online and offline, will finally see so much more of this singer-songwriter’s capabilities. But like all love letters, the connection goes both ways, because not only does the audience see who Rice is, but it also allows Rice to see her audience, to see people willing to listen and share, all under a shared love for music.

Rice’s vision for everything she does has always been raw, intimate and heart-melting, and you are sure to find this in Pahina Uno. If you ask her how she’s feeling now that the launch is finally here, she answers, “A bit anxious but mostly excited and pumped up! I can’t wait to watch my favorite bands/acts come together to celebrate with me, together with the listeners, storytellers, artists, etc. I can’t wait for these nights filled with love and music! I can’t wait to perform and tell my story! I can’t wait to create with all of you!”
Another thing you can notice from Pahina Uno is how its art is dressed up with plants, or as what Rice says, “all things that bloom from the grounds of the earth” in order to bring in to the listeners the power of nature and introspection. From Rice’s growth as an artist in launching her first EP to writing messages of love and lessons learned, Pahina Uno symbolizes growth – growing from the grounds of earth again and again through the things we feel and experience and even listen to.
Maybe if life was considered an emotion, that would be the best description of what it would feel like to receive Rice’s love letter because that is exactly what Pahina Uno is about: the very things that makes our lives go round. Love. In relationships, friendships, ourselves and the world. It all boils down to the interactions and connections we make with the people around us and in this world, all stemming from our hearts and souls. Pahina Uno is a love letter about exactly that.
As Rice said, “Ito ang simula ng pag-usbong sa lupa. Nawa’y madama.” It’s time to head on over to her EP launch and experience a night filled with art, music, creating, love and just pure, amazing love.
The first leg of the tour is happening at 8 PM tomorrow, July 27, in Mow’s Bar, Katipunan in Quezon City. For more details, you can find the event page here.
